HallyuCon Returns: A Weekend of K-Culture, Shopping, and Fandom in Singapore

Singapore was painted in the colors of the Hallyu wave this past weekend, proving once again that the city is a premier hub for K-culture. While SEVENTEEN fans were busy taking over the National Stadium and the Korea Travel Fair drew crowds at Plaza Singapura, HallyuCon 2026 offered a massive, dedicated sanctuary for fans to live out their “very Korean moment.”

Following its star-studded debut last August, HallyuCon returned for its second edition on March 7 and 8 at Suntec Hall 404, transforming the space into a vibrant slice of Seoul.

Myeongdong Vibes at Suntec City

The event captured the high-energy spirit of a Myeongdong shopping spree, featuring over 70 vendor booths. Beauty enthusiasts flocked to the K-beauty section to snag deals on trending brands. Skincare favorite Anua also made a splash, offering attendees the chance to test their products with free toner pad sachets, a perfect refresh for the humid weekend.

For the Fans, By the Fans

The heart of the convention was undoubtedly the creator market. The aisles were packed with K-pop fans hunting for the perfect fan-made merch. From customized toploaders and aesthetic photocard holders to unique accessories, it was a paradise for those looking to level up their collections and show love for their biases.

The Search for the Next Big Thing

The energy peaked at the main stage, where local talent took the spotlight. This year’s edition introduced the first-ever HallyuCon Idol competition, adding a layer of excitement to the usual song and dance showcases. Fans didn’t just watch—they participated by voting for their favorite acts over the two-day event, with the winning performers walking away with a cash prize.

With its mix of cute photo spots, high-tier beauty brands, and a community-driven atmosphere, HallyuCon 2026 solidified its place as a must-visit event for any Singapore-based K-fan. If this second edition is any indication, the Hallyu wave is only getting stronger.
