Disney+ Hotstar Intensifies K-Drama Offerings with a Star-Studded Campaign in Recent “Plots On Plate” Event

Disney+ Hotstar is solidifying its presence as a key player for K-drama fans in Thailand with its new campaign, “Intense K-Drama, All Genres.” The initiative highlights a robust lineup of highly anticipated Korean series, including the spy thriller “Tempest” and new titles like “Law and The City”, “Low Life”, and “The Nice Guy.”

To launch the campaign, Disney+ Hotstar hosted an exclusive “Plots on Plates” dinner. In collaboration with renowned Chef Buddy–Thomnatt Hatayodom, the event featured a unique six-course meal that translated the intense emotions and stories of various K-dramas into a culinary experience. Guests were also treated to the first-ever look at the new trailer for “Tempest,” which is scheduled to premiere its first three episodes on September 10.

The new content slate promises to offer something for everyone, covering a wide range of genres from action thrillers and emotional dramas to comedies and heartwarming romances. The streaming service plans to keep audiences captivated with these stories throughout the rest of 2025 and into 2026.

A Look at the Upcoming K-Drama Lineup

Leading the charge is “Tempest,” a large-scale spy series developed by a creative team from both Korea and Hollywood. It stars celebrated actors Jun Ji-hyun and Kang Dong-won, alongside Hollywood talent including John Cho and Jacob Bertrand. The show follows a diplomat and a special agent as they join forces to solve a mysterious attack threatening peace on the Korean Peninsula.

Also featured are three other key series now available for streaming:

  • Law and The City: A legal drama that follows the lives of lawyers in Seoul’s Seocho district, starring Lee Jong-suk and Moon Ga-young.
  • Low Life: A retro crime series set in the 1970s about an uncle and nephew on a treasure hunt. It features Ryu Seung-ryong, Yang Se-jong, and Im Soo-jung.
  • The Nice Guy: A romantic series about a mafia heir who wants to be a writer and reconnects with his first love, starring Lee Dong-wook and Lee Sung-kyoung.

The “Plots on Plates” dinner served as a creative highlight of the campaign. Each of the six dishes was inspired by a different K-drama, offering a memorable way to engage with the shows’ narratives. For example, the main course was crafted to reflect the intense “truth” of the spy thriller “Tempest.”
