Revealing the Enchantment Brought By K-Comics
More than merely an exhibition, the K-Comics World Tour offers an insight into the vibrant world of Korean webtoons. Webtoons, also known as “manhwa” in Korean, have gained international attention due to their distinctive fusion of vivid graphics, narrative, and mobile accessibility.
This exhibition explores the world behind the screen, highlighting the artistic skill and creative process that go into making these cherished webtoons come to life. Expect to see character drawings, original artwork, and storyboards that provide an intimate look into the painstaking process of creating a webtoon.
A Closer Look into Creative SUMM
For viewers of “The Red Sleeve,” the display provides an intriguing look behind the creative scenes. The webtoon creator and Creative SUMM, a seasoned animation studio, worked together in a novel way to create the artwork for the series. With “The Red Sleeve,” this collaboration introduces animation expertise to the webtoons for the first time, producing the work’s distinctively elegant and alluring images.
On June 21, the K-Comics World Tour conducted a unique workshop that gave participants a first-hand look at the Korean comics industry. There is still a lot to learn at the exhibit, even if you were unable to attend the training.
