Seo In Guk’s Heart Cookie in Manila: Heart Riders Got the Sweetest Treat!

Seo In Guk is definitely back in Manila for the Seo In Guk’s Heart Cookie in Manila!

For all the K-drama lovers out there — have you ever seen a character and instantly thought, yep, I’m in love? The acting? Natural. The face card? Never declined. The vibe? So strong it makes you ask, who is this guy?! That was me the first time I saw Seo In Guk in The Master’s Sun back in 2013. Even while sharing the screen with industry giants Gong Hyo Jin and So Ji Sub, he instantly stood out and stole my heart.

From there, I followed him through dramas like Doom at Your Service and Café Minamdang, which completely sealed my fangirl fate. And now, with his new superhero drama Twelve on the way, the excitement is REAL. But imagine taking all that love and meeting this charismatic actor in person? Girl, my heart almost exploded from pure kilig!

The Heart Cookie in Manila Experience

Seo In Guk’s Heart Cookie in Manila last September 20, just showed us what he’s like off the screen. This versatile, expressive, and scene-stealing actor proved to everyone how playful and charming he is in real life! He kicked off the fanmeeting with a soulful performance of his song “My Love” while holding a little heart candy — and hearts melted right there and then!

Starstruck moments with Seo In Guk

So when fans said in the first segment that making eye contact with Seo In Guk causes a “system error,” where’s the lie? Just watching him already makes my heart skip a beat like it’s a glitch! I can only imagine the adrenaline rush of the girl they invited on stage when she had to lock eyes with Seo In Guk. Ate, I hope you could hear all of us singing “That Should Be Me” while you were living that dream!

The Seo In Guk Awards

And in that same segment, when fans had to vote on what genre suits Seo In Guk best, I think we can all agree we’d love to see him more in fantasy romance and rom-coms. Spoiler alert: he’s already filming in those exact genres! What a real treat. Let’s be honest — we all secretly (or not-so-secretly) want to see him in yet another unforgettable kiss scene. The majority has spoken, and they’re right: being the “kiss master” is one of the things Seo In Guk does best. Okay, Heart Riders, I’m completely with you on that!

And of course, I cannot NOT talk about the Heart Talk segment where Seo In Guk showed even more of his playful side! He was asked a few fun questions, like: If you were going out with a Filipina on a date, where would you take her? His answer? A beach date in Cebu! Can I volunteer as tribute, please?!

Seo In Guk’s version of “Ikaw”

And then came the highlight — he was asked to sing a Filipino song, and he gave us the most soulful, heartwarming version of Yeng Constantino’s Ikaw. (Yes, the same song he sang the last time he visited the Philippines!) Only this time, it was the longer version — and trust me, every single line hit differently.

Throughout the night, Seo In Guk kept showering fans with surprises — from signed drawings, polaroids, and even AirPods (how lucky are the winners!) to giving away his very own cap. I’ll admit, I was seated there a little envious, but at the same time, my heart was full just seeing the lucky girlies who even got a hug from him!

He treated us to more songs like Distant Fate, All For You, and Out of Time. Hearing those live? Pure magic. And when he stepped off the stage to greet and interact with fans up close, it was the ultimate fanservice moment.

A special night for all Heart Riders

The night wrapped up with a quick hi-and-bye session, and of course I had to play rock, paper, scissors with him. Did I win? Nope. I threw scissors, he gave me a finger heart, and honestly? I just died right then and there.

It was truly a night to remember — one that showed not just his talent, but his generosity and genuine warmth towards his fans. If Seo In Guk ever comes back to the Philippines, you can bet I’ll be there again, front and center, ready to fangirl even harder!

Oppa is Life is a page I created in 2019 when I felt the need for another virtual space to pour out my feels, musings and fangirl experiences. It started as a Facebook fanpage but I later on decided to open other social media accounts because a single Facebook page just doesn’t feel enough.
