In an exciting announcement to fans worldwide, Netflix revealed today that the highly anticipated second season of Squid Game 2 will debut on December 26, 2024. Additionally, the streaming giant confirmed that the series will conclude with its final season in 2025. The news was shared through a personal letter penned by Hwang Dong-hyuk, the acclaimed Executive Producer, Writer, and Director of the phenomenal series.

Three years after his triumph in Squid Game, Player 456, portrayed by Lee Jung-jae, remains resolute in his quest to expose and dismantle the organization behind the deadly games. Utilizing his newfound fortune to fuel his investigation, Gi-hun begins his search by focusing on the man in the subway who introduced him to the game through a game of ddakji. However, as Gi-hun’s efforts finally yield results, the path to bringing down the organization proved to be more perilous than he could have anticipated, forcing him to re-enter the very games he sought to end.
Hwang Dong-hyuk, who made history at the 74th Primetime Emmys® as the first Asian to win Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series, returns to helm the series as director, writer, and producer.
