Born Jung Whee In on April 17, 1995, Whee In first rose to prominence in 2014 as a member of the globally renowned girl group MAMAMOO. Celebrated as one of K-pop’s top vocalists, her solo work has allowed her to showcase an even wider spectrum of her musical identity.
Whee In is praised for her unique vocal color, which effortlessly transitions across genres. Her solo discography, predominantly rooted in R&B and Neo-Soul, reflects a sophisticated, dreamy, and often sultry sound. This distinctive style is evident across her body of work, including her chart-topping single “Good Bye,” her mini-albums Redd and WHEE, and her first full-length studio album, In The Mood.
The album, released in 2023, continued her mature evolution, featuring collaborations—like the track “17” with fellow MAMAMOO member and longtime friend Hwasa—and winning her first-ever music show trophy as a solo artist for the title track “Make Me Happy” from her WHEE EP.
