These greetings might sound simple, but they’ve become synonymous with one of K-pop’s most unique and talented groups. From their “Stair-Dol” nickname to their undeniable work ethic, ONF has consistently proven their dedication to their craft. ON and OFF with ONF
ONF consists of six members, divided into two teams: the ‘ON’ team (vocalists Hyojin, E-Tion, and MK) and the ‘OFF’ team (performers J-Us, Wyatt, and U). Former member Laun was part of both teams during their debut. They burst onto the scene on August 3, 2017, under WM Entertainment with their debut track, “ON/OFF.”
Their rise to fame was accelerated by their participation in the 2020 show “Road to Kingdom,” where they earned the nickname “Stair-Dols” due to their consistent improvement, ultimately securing second place. Their performances were elevated by their “Hwangbeoji,” producer Hwang Hyun of MONOTREE, known for working with legendary artists like Kara, Taeyeon, and Super Junior.
ONF’s Journey
Following “Road to Kingdom,” ONF’s career soared. They starred in their first web drama, “Can I Step In?” and released their first studio album, “ONF: My Name,” featuring the hits “Beautiful Beautiful” and “My Name Is.” They secured their first music show win with “Beautiful Beautiful” and had a remarkable four comebacks in 2021.
In November 2021, the members (except U) enlisted for mandatory military service, making them the first boy group to enlist together. During this time, U competed on the dance show “Be Mbitious.” The group was discharged in June 2023 and returned with “Love Effect,” followed by “Bye My Monster” in April 2024.
