A well-rested and cheerful Byeon Woo Seok greeted the press today ahead of his sold-out “Summer Letter” fan meeting at the Singapore Expo. The “Lovely Runner” star charmed everyone with his positive energy and eagerness to connect with his Singaporean fans.
“I slept really well and I’m very happy to be here,” Byeon shared. “Thank you for taking your time to see me.” The charismatic actor expressed his excitement to explore Singapore, mentioning his desire to try local delicacies like chili crab and the suggested menu from his friends.

Q: How are you feeling today?
Byeon Woo Seok: I slept really well and I am very happy to be here. Thank you for taking your time to see me.
How do you find SG so far? if you could run anywhere in Singapore where will it be?
Byeon Woo Seok: I’m very happy and excited to be in Singapore to meet my fans. If I will run anywhere I run going to the fanmeeting.
How do you feel meeting your fans for the first time? What do you look forward to fans from Singapore?
Byeon Woo Seok: I came to Singapore to get lots of memories and fun with my Singapore fans. I understand very well that fans here are spending their resources and time and I don’t want to waste any single time with them.
What food you are excited to try in SG?
Byeon Woo Seok: Chili crab, chicken rice I hope to try it while I’m here. My friend in Singapore gave me 10 menus to check out while I’m here.
Can you share something you’re obsessed with with lately and why?
Byeon Woo Seok: the culture difference in each and every places that I visit and the way people love each other. I am obsess to explore that these days.
How do you keep up with that positive energy towards your interview? Any tips?
Byeon Woo Seok: I believe that when it comes to result it’s beyond my control, what’s more important is the process and how much effort I put in. It helps to keep my positive energy.

Byeon Woo Seok: Allergy medicine, flu medicine
As a Romcom genius how do you keep this qualifier in the future?
Byeon Woo Seok: I don’t think I’m a romcom genius, but I’m very grateful. I need to do my best at my acting. Something I really need to earn before I earn this title.
Dream role you want to play? any plans to pursue play or theatre?
Byeon Woo Seok: Before I acted in Lovely runner, action and fantasy before. I don’t want to choose my character or type of character. I personally love romantic comedy.
How do you approach emotional scene in the role? Any special techniques or methods that help you with your character?
Byeon Woo Seok: First, I pay attention to the character’s feeling deeply and identify what kind of situation he is in. I try to put myself in the character’s shoes and helps me to better immerse myself to the character.
Aside the breakthrough character Ryu Seon Jae in “Lovely Runner”, what is the memorable role for you and why?
Byeon Woo Seok: My past work 20th century girl. that was the project that overcome the trauma that I was going through. I have some issues before playing that project but thanks to this movie I have overcome my issues.
You were seen taking photos with watermelons in Taipei? Why?
Byeon Woo Seok: First of all the size is watermelon is nothing that I’ve seen before it was huge. I happened to be in the supermarket and it was so huge and was so impressed.
You usually play roles with tragic endings, how is it like to overcome that with lovely runner?
Byeon Woo Seok: I know very well most of my past work I played one sided love most times it was not successful. Finally when it comes to lovely runner it was a happy ending. When I receive the final episode I was sad there’s this sad emotion I remember calling the reporter and scriptwriter because of the ending.
Challenges or funny episode while working with Kim Hyeyoon? (about the height difference?)
Byeon Woo Seok: Well I don’t recall anything very difficult. I remember we are shooting in the hotel with Hyeyoon and the house was an old house setting the door was not very tall to and remember everyone was joking that I was tall as the door.
Opportunities of the success of Lovely runner?
Byeon Woo Seok: thanks to the success I got to be travelling for my fanmeet and meeting my fans worldwide and meeting the local media.
The theme of your fanmeeting is summer letter any particular letter you received that inspired you?
Byeon Woo Seok: I remember so many of them I recall. I feel that it’s every interaction I have with fans it’s like a letter or gift.
Like the lyrics of sudden shower you are a gift to the fans, What do you think of Tong Tongs (Byeon Woo Seok fans)?
Byeon Woo Seok: Just like the tong tongs they are a gift to me. The journey was not easy but I am confident that I have given my best and I thank them that it keeps me going and want to give everything I have.
