K-pop idol and actor Kim Myung Soo, better known as L of the popular boy band Infinite, is set to make significant strides in the Philippine entertainment industry. The star recently signed a contract with Universal Records Philippines and GLXY Entertainment, solidifying his partnership and paving the way for exciting new projects.
During his press conference and contract signing last November 12, Kim Myung Soo expressed his enthusiasm for working in the Philippines: “To see that I’m sharing this moment with so many of you, I’m very excited to be doing projects in the Philippines. Starting today, we will be doing a lot of projects here in the Philippines.”
Kathleen Dy-Go, managing director of Universal Records Philippines, shared the company’s vision for Kim Myung Soo’s career in the country: “This is not just a commitment of our contract signing today but also a shared vision with Mr. Jeon of Lookmedia and Mr. Kim Myung Soo.”
Kim Myung Soo recently held his “Reboot” Fanmeeting last August and his upcoming projects in the Philippines include music releases, potential collaborations, drama series, movies, and endorsements. He is also open to learning Filipino to better connect with his Filipino fans.
“We have a lot of magazine shoots. We’ll have more projects in the future so please look forward to that. With this opportunity, we’ll definitely coming back to the Philippines more and learn [Filipino],” he said.
Kim Myung Soo is excited to showcase both his musical and acting talents to Philippine audiences. He believes that his experiences as a K-pop idol and actor have shaped him into a versatile artist.
“These are the things I’m building up in my career in my 15 years in the entertainment industry. Definitely there are different sides of my career that I’ll be able to show to my fans here in the Philippines,” he explained.
