Lee Hyeri Welcomes Fans to Her “Studio” in First-Ever Manila Fan Meeting

South Korean actress and singer Lee Hyeri brought sunshine to the New Frontier Theater on July 26, 2025, for her first solo fan meeting in the Philippines, even as rains poured outside. The weather didn’t stop the fans, known as Hyerongs, from showing up in full force for the Manila stop of her 2025 HYERI FANMEETING TOUR: Welcome to HYERI’s STUDIO, presented by Three Angles Production.

This marked the seventh stop on Hyeri’s 2025 tour, following earlier shows in Seoul on June 7, Osaka on June 12, Tokyo on June 14, Macau on June 22, Taipei on July 5, and Hong Kong on July 19. After Manila, the tour continues in Bangkok on August 2, Jakarta on August 9, and Kuala Lumpur on August 17.

Tickets ranged from PHP 3,900 to PHP 10,900, with perks like a Hi-Bye session, signed posters, and a group photo raffle for 400 lucky VIP ticket holders. Filipino Hyerongs, many of whom have supported Hyeri since her Girl’s Day debut, filled the venue with cheers.

Hyeri opened the evening with a performance of “Whiplash” by aespa, the South Korean girl group under SM Entertainment, before greeting fans with a bright smile and saying, “Hello Manila, this is Hyeri. Nice to meet you.” The show was styled as a live “studio” experience, complete with segments, games, and fan projects. It was hosted by actress-singer Denise Laurel, whose energy with Hyeri added an extra joy for the crowd.

A highlight was when Hyeri answered questions in character. When asked what Yoo Jaeyi, her role in the 2024 Girls’ Love (GL) drama Friendly Rivalry,  would write in her diary, she replied, “I’ll put Season 2.” The series starred Hyeri as Jaeyi alongside Chung Soo Bin as Woo Seul-gi and gained attention for its classification on rivalry and romance. She also recalled her time portraying Lee Dam in My Roommate is a Gumiho in 2021, where she was paired with Jang Ki-yong as Shin Woo-yeo, joking, “I’ll find a way to remove the bead.”

Throughout the night, Hyeri’s natural humor shone. After talking about trying local fried chicken, she teased, “I feel like I should open a chicken place here.”

The audience roared with laughter when Hyeri joined in the crowd chant “Iiyak na ’yan!,” a Tagalog phrase that means “She’s going to cry.” Fans also taught her Filipino phrases like “Mahal kita” (I love you), “Sana all” (I wish I had that too), and “Walang uuwi” (No one’s going home), which she happily repeated.

Hyeri’s career has blossomed across music, acting, and variety. She debuted in 2010 as the youngest member of Girl’s Day under Dream T Entertainment and became a household name with her breakout role as Sung Deok-sun in Reply 1988.

As the fan meeting neared its end, a fan project video chronicling Hyeri’s journey from idol to actress played on the screen. Moved by the love and support, Hyeri smiled through tears and said, “I’m courageous.” She later shared, “I really, really wanted to meet Manila fans, so meeting you today makes me really happy. Thank you so much.”

Before wrapping up, Hyeri surprised fans with a nostalgic dance to Girl’s Day’s hit song “Something.” She stepped off stage to personally greet fans up close, waving, handing out signed balls and plushies.

In her closing message, she said, “Thank you for making me the most-loved person today. I’ll always wish that you stay healthy and happy. Let’s see each other again, okay? I love you, Manila.”

The night ended with Hyerongs joining Hyeri for a Hi-Bye session and group photo opportunities, which marked the closing of Hyeri’s “studio” for its Manila stop.
