Ahead of their NCT WISH LOG In Manila show, the Japanese unit of SM Entertainment’s mega group NCT, NCT WISH, thrilled fans during a press conference on Friday (April 11) at Gateway Quantum Skyview in Quezon City. Filo-Wishzens erupted with excitement as members Sion, Riku, Yushi, Jaehee, Ryo, and Sakuya took the stage, their cheers rivaling the scorching Philippine heat. The warm reception left the members visibly moved and deeply appreciative.
Sion, the group’s leader, expressed his gratitude to the passionate crowd and said he expected the same electrifying energy for tomorrow’s show.
It was their first-ever Manila show, and they admitted to feeling a bit nervous, but thanks to the loud cheers of their fans, they managed to calm down. Sion added that this heartfelt support serves as their motivation to give an unforgettable performance.
When asked about the reason behind their fame, NCT WISH shared that their practice of including subtitles whenever they post content helps them connect with international fans, allowing their messages and personalities to transcend language barriers.
The group also gave their fans a special treat—a sneak peek at the choreography for their upcoming lead single, Poppop, which will headline their second mini-album of the same name, set to drop on April 14.
They teased fans by revealing that their new song’s performance includes a lot of solo parts, showcasing each member’s unique style. Jaehee shared that the track’s lyrics depict a cute and pure love, reflecting NCT WISH’s signature image while highlighting their growth as a group. Ryo added that fans should look forward to the storyline of the Poppop music video, which he described as “interesting” and filled with surprises.
To be closer to their Filipino fans, the members charmed the crowd by showing off their Tagalog aegyo and attempting Tagalog tongue twisters, much to the delight of the audience.
Sakuya shared that performing in Manila has always been a wish of his, making this moment a wish granted. Meanwhile, Ryo shared a heartfelt wish to return and perform at the Philippine Arena, the country’s largest indoor stadium, someday, hoping that their devoted fans will still be there to support them.
Some members also revealed their wishes to explore the Philippines further, mentioning Boracay and Cebu as dream travel destinations to enjoy the country’s stunning beaches and summer vibes.
“We prepared so many nice and awesome stages for tomorrow,” Yushi shared, building anticipation for what promises to be a memorable event.
NCT WISH is set to make their highly anticipated debut performance in the Philippines on April 12 at the New Frontier Theater.
